Join us as the Port of Galveston celebrates 200 years of history and adventure! Enter our pirate contest for a chance to win great prizes at our free Party on the Pier on Friday, October 17, at Pier 21.

Who Can Enter?
The contest is open to pirates ages 12 and up, with two age groups and grand prizes:

• 12-20 years – 4 passes to Moody Gardens
• 21 years and up – A 2-night stay at the San Luis Resort

To enter, complete the online form and upload a photo of yourself in your pirate costume. Galveston Wharves employees are ineligible to enter.

Pirates between ages 12 and 17 must:

• Include parent or guardian contact info
• Have the listed parent/guardian’s permission to enter
• Be accompanied by parent/guardian at the event

Key Dates

• Entries open now
• Entries close: September 22 (or when we gather 100 total submissions)
• Finalists notified before October 1
• Final round (live): October 17 between 7 and 8 p.m.

Finalists will be contacted by email with next steps. Winners will be chosen live at Party on the Pier. Finalists must bring a valid photo ID to check in. Those under 18 must include parent or guardian contact info, have their permission to enter, and be accompanied by them at the event.

Costume Rules

• Costumes must be pirate-themed and family-friendly
• No real weapons or offensive props
• Handmade and store-bought costumes are welcome
• Props must be safe and respectful
• Entrants must wear the same costume for both rounds of judging

Media Release
By entering, you agree that costume photos and event footage may be used by the Galveston Wharves for promotional purposes. Unsafe or inappropriate behavior may lead to disqualification.
